No, you can’t pre-blame Trump, who has yet to be inaugurated, for everything. That being said, without knowing what was the motivation behind eliminating that elective, by a school board that I assume is ultimately answerable to the voters, there are actions being taken by officials, such as the Governor of Illinois, to “Trump proof” their processes and procedures in anticipation of chaos.
Might your local school board been acting similarly?? Just spit ballin’
The school board set one of its goals as sound financial planning. They had received funds from the state during Covid that they put into use by adding an additional elective. The program was widely praised, but because of funding changes in Sacramento, the school board was told by district officials they could no longer afford the program. Parents said they wanted to find other cuts — any other cuts than cutting an elective that all students benefited from that was widely praised. Ultimately because of the timeline it takes to find savings the school board felt it was forced into the action of reverting back to a six period day. It had nothing to do with Trump proofing the state and from what I’ve seen the only Trump proofing we’ve done is spend money on a special session.
